IAI-JUTSU
居 合 術
WHAT IS IAI JUTSU?
Iai Jutsu can be defined as the ability to draw and cut. The study of this discipline contains the training of the Kata or forms, which are the systematic practice of movements and forms of drawing and cutting pre-established and used in different situations. Kenjutsu and Kumidachi , the study of sword combat once drawn. To train the katas the kenjutsu and kumidachi We use the boken , a wooden sword and a saya , sheath of the sword or the iaito , a metallic replica of a blunt Japanese sword. Another training we do at the Tadaima Dojo is the tameshigiri , royal court with the Japanese sword. For this we use as "ammunition" the waste from the pieces of the omote tatami , soil that is used in Japanese houses that is made with rice straw. And as a weapon the Shinken or Japanese cutting sword, with an edge. To complement all of the above, we also work with the geken , which seeks the truth or falsehood of the sword through free combat, albeit scheduled and using a padded sword.

WHAT SCHOOLS DO WE PRACTICE?
In our classes we begin the practice of the sword from different schools and styles. These are related to each other in a natural way, providing a greater dimension of our knowledge. These schools are under the umbrella of Shin Do Goshin Kai and are, Toyama Ryu Iaido Batto Do Renmei 戸 山 流 居 合 抜 刀 道 連 盟 and Zen Nihon Batto Do Renmei and Shibukawa Ichi Ryu 澁 川 一流
